The Hinges of Holiness: Cultivating the Cardinal Virtues
The Hinges of Holiness: Cultivating the Cardinal Virtues is an all-comers retreat that will be based around the book The Four Cardinal Virtues by Josef Pieper. This retreat is open to all adults ages 21+ and will be hosted at the Malvern Retreat House in Malvern, Pennsylvania from June 16-18, 2023. You are asked to read The Four Cardinal Virtues prior to arriving for the retreat, so you are familiar with the topics presented.
- Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P.
- Fr. Jacob-Bertrand Janczyk, O.P.
- Fr. Patrick Briscoe, O.P.
- Fr. Joseph-Anthony Kress, O.P.
- Fr. Bonaventure Chapman, O.P.
The retreat will begin on Friday evening with Mass, dinner, and the first conference and breakout session. Throughout the weekend, you will hear multiple conferences from the friars and attend smaller discussion groups on topics taken from The Four Cardinal Virtues. In addition to the conferences and breakout groups, you will also have the opportunity to attend Mass, adoration, the Divine Office, and enjoy time for recreation with the other retreatants.
Due to the incredible generosity of all those who donated to our retreat fundraising campaign in 2022, we have been able to lower the cost of this retreat to $275 per person in a single room, or $225 per person in a shared room, pending availability. This includes lodging, all meals during your stay, and supplemental retreat materials. This does not include travel to and from the retreat.
If you are interested in applying, please see the application here. The final deadline for applications is June 2nd, 2023. However, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and space is limited.
