Welcome to Godsplaining: a podcast featuring contemplative preachers and their contemporary age.
Considering topics philosophical, theological, cultural, and beyond, Godsplaining presents ideas from the Church’s tradition and brings them to bear on our lives’ most urgent questions.
Each week, join the Dominican friars as they muse on all things Catholic. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Soundcloud, and wherever podcasts are found.
The world is noisy. Our view is pretty straightforward: we're trying to inject something of God and His grace into the clamor.
Who are the Dominicans? The simple answer is that Dominican friars are men who love God, whose lives are shaped by the Lord’s final exhortation to his disciples: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28:19).
The goal of the Dominican life is not to contemplate at some times and to preach at other times, but to develop a contemplative vision, enabling the friar to “pray at all times in the Spirit” (Eph 6:18), living his life as an act of preaching, a holy witness to the abiding presence of Jesus Christ.
The more complete answer has taken eight hundred years in the telling, since St. Dominic first founded the Order of Preachers in 1216, and is still being told today.
